Design motivation

To make the MiniDisc format's characteristic recordablility even more appealing, an MD "pocket recorder" version has been developed. With convenient record and edit functions that would be unthinkable with analog tape, newspaper and magazine journalists, as well as students and businessmen who often record meetings and lectures, will find MD especially useful.

• Builtin monaural microphone and speaker, for carefree recording and playback anytime.
• Provides long play monaural recording, stereo recording possible with external microphone.
• Complete with playback functions such as high speed playback at two speeds (1.6X and 2.2X).
• Time remaining and record/playback position available at a glance with a "Position Pointer" giving a tape like indication of remaining recording time and making it possible to confirm the recording and playback position. On the LCD display, current disk remaining and current playing position are displayed with an analog representation.
