A short path from your first model number to the reference you need.
1. Identify the device
Read the exact model number on your player, recorder or deck. Find its record and open its manual. Similar names can describe different models or bundles.
2. Understand the terms
MiniDisc is the media format. MDLP describes longer recording modes. NetMD concerns computer transfer. Hi-MD adds a different recording format and media capabilities. These labels are separate: one does not guarantee every feature of another.

3. Choose the direction
Recording from a sound source onto a disc, sending files from a computer, and copying a disc back to a computer are different tasks. Choose a guide that matches the direction and your hardware.
4. Check before following instructions
Check the exact model, input/output connections, software platform and any warnings. Historical instructions may describe systems that have changed. Source-linked accessories and guides have not automatically been tested on your device.
