MiniDisc SCMS Tweakers Equipment Notes
- The Prospec MSP730 (in Japanese) is an apparently legal
SCMS stripper being sold in Japan for ¥ 16,800. (Available
through Melting-Pot.com) David Jansen reports his
experiences with the Prospec MSP730 SCMS stripper. Unit has been
discontinued in Japan, apparently due to copyright issues.
- The Friend-Chip audio format converters allow SCMS management.
- The SRC 2000 Sample Rate Converter from Behringer also happens to strip SCMS flags during operation. (Harmony Central's page for the unit.)
- The Friend-Chip D4-2 Copy Con converts coaxial to XLR and vice versa, as well as having the option to remove the SCMS bit from recordings.
