PC Link kits are a pre-netMD way to connect a device to a PC. Using either serial or USB, the device outputs to a control port and digital input on the device. The control port is used to command the device along with editing disc title and track names. The digital input is used to transfer music. With both cables connected you can record, set titles, and control playback from a PC. There are no reports of the original software working on a modern Windows 10 PC.

The Control A1 port used for PC Link kits has been fully reverse engineered. You can find information on the protocol on hifi-remote.com.

A working python version of the Control A1 protocol (based off of the Sony PCLK-MN10) has been created and can be found on github. Here is a youtube video of it working.
