The Sony RM-MC27 is a stick-style LCD remote control that was bundled with and compatible with certain late-model Sony NetMD MiniDisc players around 2003–2004. It connects via Sony’s proprietary inline remote jack (often referred to as Sony Control-A1 style), and it can control playback, display track/album names, and navigate menus.

  • Sony MZ-N710
  • Sony MZ-N10 (works but not the bundled remote; N10 typically shipped with RM-MC33ELK)
  • Sony MZ-N910
  • Sony MZ-N920
  • Sony MZ-NF610 (FM model)
  • Sony MZ-NHF800 (partial compatibility — some FM functions might not be supported)
  • Sony MZ-N707 (later revisions; earlier units used RM-MC11ELK)
  • Sony MZ-NF710 (FM/NetMD hybrid)

These models shipped with RM-MC27 in the retail package:

  • MZ-N710 (primary bundle model worldwide)
  • MZ-NF610 (bundled in regions without FM tuner emphasis; some regions had RM-MC29 for FM)
  • MZ-NF710 (FM version of N710 in certain regions)
  • MZ-NF510 (low-cost FM/NetMD variant in some markets)

Other Notes The RM-MC27 was primarily included in mid-range NetMD Walkman units, especially the MZ-N710 and closely related variants.

It is mechanically and electronically compatible with other Sony MD units that use the same 4-pole inline remote connector, but advanced display functions depend on the specific model’s firmware.

Higher-end models (like MZ-RH1 Hi-MD) use later remotes with jog dials and more complex navigation, so while RM-MC27 may fit physically, it will lack full functionality.
