The MCMD-R1 is a digital media (Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo*, Memory Stick PRO Duo*, SD, miniSD*, xD Picture, CompactFlash, Smart Media, MultiMedia Card *(Using Adapter) to Hi-MD adapter. Using 4 AAA batteries (Data can be copied about 20 times with a general 128MB Memory Stick using an alkali dry battery according to the manual), it can copy from these types of cards to standard MD (noted as 80min/305MB Hi-MD formatted but likely 60/74 work as well) to 1GB Hi-MD, it uses a MCMD-### folder(up to 510) and uploads the music files. Note, it is EXCLUSIVELY for Hi-MD, and not NetMD complaint.
