Digital PC Link Version: A new MZ-R70 bundle featuring the Digital PCLink (a Xitel MD-PORT DG2) called the MZ-R70DPC was announced September 20, 2000. The Digital PCLink is a USB soundcard with TOSLINK output, for recording audio from computers to minidisc.
Remotes:
The in-line remote originally bundled with the unit (RM-MZ3R) is a basic remote with no display, similar to the one bundled with the MZ-R37. However, the unit supports remotes with a display (including backlit displays), but if the remote has separate play and next track controls, the next track button will act as a play button if the unit is paused or stopped.
User anecdotes have noted a very noisy spindle motor during recording and playback.
